If you searched for Bill Melugin Wikipedia, you may have noticed that finding a straightforward, reliable biography is not as easy as finding information about some other television journalists. Bill Melugin is an American broadcast journalist who has built his career through investigative reporting, breaking news coverage, and extensive reporting from the U.S.-Mexico border.

As of 2026, Melugin serves as a congressional correspondent for Fox News Channel and is based in Washington, D.C. He also anchors FOX News Report, a short national news brief distributed through Fox-owned and affiliated television stations.

This guide explains what is publicly documented about Melugin, including his education, early career, Fox News work, major reporting assignments, journalism awards, and the current status of his Wikipedia presence.

Does Bill Melugin Have a Wikipedia Page?

One of the most important things to clarify for people searching Bill Melugin Wikipedia is that there does not appear to be a dedicated English-language Wikipedia biography for him at present.

Wikidata, Wikipedia’s sister knowledge base, has an entry identifying Bill Melugin as an American broadcast journalist and linking his occupation and Fox News employment to Fox News’s official biography. However, the Wikidata record currently shows no Wikipedia sitelink for him.

That distinction matters because several websites use phrases such as “Bill Melugin Wikipedia” in their titles even though they are not Wikipedia itself. Those pages may contain useful background information, but their claims should not automatically be treated as verified.

For a current biography, Fox News’s own correspondent profile and official company announcements provide stronger primary-source evidence about Melugin’s career and present position.

Who Is Bill Melugin?

Bill Melugin is an American television journalist best known for his reporting for Fox News. He joined Fox News Channel in May 2021 after working as an investigative reporter for KTTV-TV, the Fox-owned station in Los Angeles.

His journalism career has focused heavily on investigative reporting, breaking news, immigration, border issues, and major national events. During his Fox News career, he became particularly associated with on-the-ground reporting along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Fox News says Melugin spent roughly half of his time reporting from the southern border during the 2021–2024 period. His assignments included reporting from the Rio Grande and the Del Rio area in Texas, among other locations.

His work has also taken him beyond immigration coverage. He has reported on major breaking-news events, including the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, the 2025 California wildfires, and presidential and midterm election coverage.

Bill Melugin’s Education and Early Journalism Career

Melugin studied Broadcast Journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. His education provided the foundation for a career that would eventually move from local television reporting to national political journalism.

Before joining Fox News, he worked in several local television markets. His early career included work at KFOX-TV in El Paso, Texas, followed by reporting and anchoring at WJZY-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina. He later joined KTTV-TV in Los Angeles as an investigative reporter.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Melugin began covering the border during his first television job in El Paso in 2013 before eventually moving to KTTV. His investigative work at KTTV helped establish his reputation and brought his reporting to the attention of Fox News executives.

This progression is useful for understanding his career: rather than entering national television immediately, Melugin developed experience through local reporting, investigative journalism, and field assignments before moving onto a national platform.

Bill Melugin at Fox News

Fox News signed Melugin as a national correspondent in 2021, with his new role beginning in May of that year. At the time, he was based in the network’s Los Angeles bureau.

His profile grew substantially through his border reporting. Fox News describes him as being at the forefront of coverage of migrant crossings and says he reported extensively from the southern border during his first several years with the network.

His reporting portfolio has not been limited to immigration. He has covered elections, natural disasters, violent incidents, and other major breaking-news stories across the United States. His field reporting has frequently involved live coverage and video gathered directly from locations where major events were unfolding.

In November 2025, Fox News announced that Melugin had been promoted to congressional correspondent and relocated to Washington, D.C. The role involves covering Congress, including legislative developments and political activity on Capitol Hill.

What Awards Has Bill Melugin Won?

Melugin’s journalism career has included several professional awards.

According to Fox News, he received three local Emmy Awards for investigative reporting during his four-year period at KTTV in Los Angeles. He also received two Golden Mike Awards for Best Investigative Journalism from the Radio & TV News Association of Southern California.

Fox News also lists three regional Edward R. Murrow Awards among his professional honors, recognizing his work in hard news and breaking news reporting.

These awards help explain why Melugin’s background is broader than his later reputation for national political and border reporting. His professional record began with investigative and local-news journalism, where gathering information, developing sources, and producing original stories were central parts of his work.

What Is Bill Melugin Doing Now?

As of 2026, Bill Melugin is a congressional correspondent for Fox News Channel and is based in Washington, D.C. His current beat represents a significant change from his earlier years as a Los Angeles-based correspondent who frequently traveled to the southern border.

He also serves as the anchor of FOX News Report, a 90-second news brief produced for Fox-owned and affiliated television stations. Fox News announced that the program began airing in February 2026.

His current work therefore combines political reporting from Capitol Hill with a broader national news role. Recent Fox News material shows him reporting on congressional and political developments, reflecting his transition into Washington-based journalism.

For readers searching Bill Melugin Wikipedia, this current role is particularly important because online biographies can become outdated quickly. His official Fox News profile is a more appropriate source for confirming his present position.

Bill Melugin’s Career in Perspective

Bill Melugin’s career illustrates how a local television reporter can progress into national journalism through investigative work and field reporting. His path moved through El Paso, Charlotte, and Los Angeles before he joined Fox News as a national correspondent.

His border coverage became a defining part of his national profile, but it is only one part of his professional history. His résumé also includes investigative reporting, election coverage, disaster reporting, and coverage of major breaking-news events.

There is also an important distinction between verified biographical information and claims commonly repeated on unofficial biography websites. Details such as exact personal finances, private relationships, or other personal information should not be treated as established facts unless supported by reliable sources.

For anyone researching Bill Melugin, the best approach is therefore to prioritize primary and reputable sources, particularly his official Fox News biography and Fox News’s published career announcements. Those sources provide a much clearer picture of his professional background than pages simply designed around the search phrase “Bill Melugin Wikipedia.”
